- A:To remove the hub and bearing, start by loosening the rear drive-axle/hub nut on AWD models. Then, loosen the wheel lug nuts, raise the vehicle, and support it securely on jackstands. Remove the wheel and the brake drum or disc. On AWD models, remove the driveaxle/hub nut and use wire to support the end of the driveaxle. Disconnect the electrical connector for the wheel speed sensor. Remove the hub mounting bolts and guide the hub and bearing out. To install, reverse the removal steps. Make sure to tighten all bolts to the specified torque. For 2007 and later models, clean the hub mounting bolt threads and holes and apply new high-strength thread-locking compound during installation. On AWD models, install a new driveaxle/hub nut and tighten it securely. Finally, install the brake drum or disc and the wheel, lower the vehicle, and tighten the lug nuts to the specified torque. Finally, remove the four hub mounting bolts and guide the hub and bearing out from the brake assembly. To install the hub and bearing assembly, follow the reverse steps of removal. After installing all four bolts, tighten them to the specified torque. On AWD models, install a new drive axle/hub nut and tighten it securely (final tightening will be done after lowering the vehicle).
