- A:To remove the air intake duct, start by disconnecting the PCV hose from the resonator on 2.4L engine models or the PCV fresh air hose from the valve cover on V6 engine models. Then, loosen the clamps at the air filter box and the throttle body and lift off the duct. For the installation, simply reverse the steps. To remove the air filter box, loosen the clamp and detach the duct from the box. Disconnect the electrical connector from the MAF sensor and remove the box mounting fastener to lift off the box. - A:At the specified intervals, the air filter element should be replaced with a new one. On all models, the air filter is housed in a black plastic box mounted on the right side of the engine compartment. To replace it, remove the intake tube, then on 2009 and earlier models disengage the retaining clips and on 2010 and later engines, loosen the four captive screws on the housing cover, but do not try to remove the screws. Pull the housing cover up, then lift the air filter element out of the housing. Wipe out the inside of the air filter housing with a clean rag. While the cover is off, be careful not to drop anything down into the air filter housing. Installation is the reverse of removal.Posted by GMPartsGiant Specialist
