- A:To remove the differential assembly, start by raising the rear of the vehicle and supporting it securely on jackstands, while also blocking the front wheels to prevent any rolling. Then, proceed to remove the driveshaft, driveaxles, and the rear section of the exhaust system. Next, place a floor jack under the differential assembly and tie it securely using wire or a similar method. Remove the differential rear mounting bolts and both front mounting nuts. Carefully lower the differential just enough to disconnect the electrical connectors, and then remove the differential. For installation, follow the reverse steps of removal, making sure not to tighten any of the mounting fasteners until all of them have been installed.
