A:
To remove the sway bar kit assembly, first loosen the rear wheel lug nuts, raise the rear of the vehicle, and support it securely on jackstands. Block the front wheels to prevent the vehicle from rolling off the stands, and then remove the rear wheels. Next, remove the sway bar kit link-to-frame nuts/bolts and the nuts from the lower ends of the links, and separate the link from the bar. Finally, remove the sway bar kit clamp bolts from the axle housing and remove the sway bar kit assembly. To install the sway bar kit assembly, inspect the sway bar bushings and link bushings for cracks, tears, and other signs of deterioration, and replace them as necessary. Then, simply reverse the removal steps and be sure to tighten all fasteners to the torque specifications.

Q:
How to remove and install a front stabilizer bar and stabilizer bar bushing on Chevrolet Avalanche,Silverado,Suburban,Tahoe,GMC Sierra,Yukon,Yukon Denali and Yukon XL? Posted by Customer
A:
To remove the sway bar kit, the vehicle must be raised and securely supported on jackstands. The oil pan skid plate or engine shield, if present, should be removed. The link bolts and sway bar kit bracket bolts should be removed, followed by the sway bar kit itself. The sway bar bushings should also be removed and all parts inspected for wear and damage. When installing the sway bar bushings, it is important to position them correctly with the slits facing forward for 1500 models and rearward for 2500/3500 models. The installation process is the reverse of removal, with all fasteners tightened to torque specifications and thread-locking compound (blue) used on the bolts.
