If the timing does not retard and the resistance is above or below the prescribed limit, then the sensor should be changed; if the resistance is within the prescribed limits, then the car should be taken for further tests. For component replacement, unplug the cable from the negative terminal of the battery, disconnect the wiring harness connecting the ESC sensor, then to the block, demount the sensor and reassemble in the reverse manner. For the ESC module, remove the battery cable, remove the engine cover, the module is at the rear of the engine compartment, disconnect the wiring, remove the bolts, and reinstall in reverse.
