- Q:Where is the brake light switch located and how do you remove and adjust it? Posted by Customer
- A:The brake light switch is located on a bracket at the top of the brake pedal. It activates the brake lights at the rear of the vehicle when the pedal is pressed. To remove the switch, disconnect the negative battery cable and the wiring harness. Then, loosen the locknut and unscrew the switch from the pedal bracket. For installation, simply reverse the removal steps. To adjust the switch, loosen the locknut and set a gap of 1/32 to 3/64 inch between the threaded portion and the pedal stop. Then, tighten the locknut. Finally, reconnect the wires and battery, and ensure that the rear brake lights are working properly.Posted by GMPartsGiant Specialist
