    Q:
How to inspect and clean a throttle body on Chevrolet Avalanche? Posted by Customer
    A:
Remove the air intake duct and inspect the throttle body for carbon build-up. If dirty, clean with a sensor-safe solvent. Disconnect the throttle body's electrical connector, remove its mounting fasteners, and discard the old gasket. Install in reverse order, using a new gasket and tightening to torque specifications. Start the engine to check the throttle body's operation and ensure no air leaks.

    Q:
How to remove the throttle body on Chevrolet Corvette? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove the throttle body, start by disconnecting the cable from the negative terminal of the battery and removing the engine covers. Then, remove the air intake duct and disconnect the throttle body electrical connector(s). On older models, clamp off and disconnect the coolant hoses to the throttle body. Next, remove the throttle body mounting bolts and detach it from the intake manifold, discarding the old gasket. For installation, use a new gasket and tighten the throttle body fasteners to the proper torque specifications. Perform the idle relearn procedure, which varies depending on the model year. For 2001 and earlier models, an idle relearn is required if the PCM is disconnected, loses power, or is reprogrammed, or if the battery is disconnected. Start the engine and let it idle until it reaches a temperature greater than 176F, then follow specific steps for automatic or manual transmission models. Clear any codes that are present. For 2007 and later models, if the throttle body has been cleaned or replaced, a scan tool is required to perform the idle learn procedure. If the PCM has been replaced or reprogrammed, follow specific steps to allow the engine to learn the correct idle. Verify the engine is idling properly and clear any DTCs that are set.

    Q:
How to remove and install the throttle body and gasket on Chevrolet Colorado? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove the air intake duct, the electrical connector and the evap canister purge line should be unfastened from throttle body. By so doing, we will disconnect EVAP purge line and a throttle body electrical connector. Remove the mounting bolts and separate the throttle body and gasket. Those were taken out while removing throttle body mounting bolts. Clean old gasket material on both throttle body and intake manifold then attach a new one. Tighten the holding down bolts. When reinstalling, reverse what you did when removing it.

    Q:
How to remove the throttle body on Chevrolet Express? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove the throttle body, relieve fuel system pressure and disconnect the negative battery terminal. Remove engine cover and disconnect electrical connector from throttle body. Disconnect fuel supply and return lines, remove bracket bolt, and loosen nuts attaching fuel lines to throttle body. Remove throttle body, accelerator cable bracket, ignition coil/module assembly, and EVAP canister purge solenoid. Carefully remove upper intake manifold and detach poppet nozzles from intake manifold. Pry bracket locking tabs away from throttle body and remove assembly. Remove fuel injector hold-down plate nuts and plate, then push injector out of throttle body. For installation, replace injector O-rings and apply light coat of clean engine oil before pressing injector into throttle body. Install injector hold-down plate and nuts, then install throttle body onto intake manifold bracket. Install poppet nozzles and ensure they are properly seated. Inspect and replace seals if necessary, then install upper intake manifold, EVAP purge valve, and ignition coil/module assembly. Inspect and replace damaged fuel line O-rings and retainers, then install fuel lines and bracket. Install throttle body with new gasket. Remaining steps are reverse of removal. Finally, activate fuel pump by turning ignition switch to ON and check for fuel leakage in fuel lines and throttle body.

    Q:
How to remove the throttle body on Chevrolet Express? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start by disconnecting the cable from the negative terminal of the battery to remove the throttle body. Remove the engine cover and air intake duct. Depending on model year, you will need to disconnect electrical connectors from either TAC or TP sensor and IAC valve. On older models however, you should disconnect accelerator cable as well as cruise control cable from throttle body and take away accelerator cable bracket. However, on newer models, check for damage and if necessary replace them by removing any coolant or vacuum hoses from these bodies; also remove accelerator cable bracket. Move out all bolts/nuts which holds throttle body, throw away old gasket and clean mating surfaces between this one and manifold intake. Use a new gasket for throttle body installation; undo removal procedure in reverse order ensuring that you tighten mounting bolts with specified torque value.
