Q:
How to remove and reinstall the throttle body on Chevrolet Cruze? Posted by Customer
A:
Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. On 2016 and later models, remove the oil filler cap and engine cover fasteners. Lift the engine cover and valve cover insulator up and off of the valve cover, then reinstall the oil filler cap. It may be necessary to remove the cover and insulator separately. On 1.8L models, remove the air intake duct from the throttle body. On 1.4L models, remove the charge air cooler outlet pipe from the throttle body. Disconnect the throttle actuator motor electrical connector and detach the charge air cooler pipe. To disconnect the electrical connector, slide out the lock, then depress the release tab. Remove the throttle body mounting bolts and remove the throttle body. Remove the throttle body O-ring and inspect it. If the O-ring isn't cracked, torn or otherwise deteriorated, it's okay to reuse it. If it's damaged or worn, replace it. Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten the throttle body mounting bolts. Start the engine and verify that the throttle body operates correctly and that there are no air leaks. Whenever the battery has been disconnected, the PCM must relearn its former driveability and performance characteristics.
