To remove the throttle body, start by disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal. Then, remove the air intake duct by disconnecting it from the throttle body and moving it aside. Disconnect the electrical connector from the throttle body and, if applicable, remove the fasteners securing the heater hose bracket to the throttle body on 3.4L V6 models. Next, remove the throttle body mounting fasteners and carefully lift off the throttle body, discarding the old gasket. Remember to cover the intake manifold opening with a clean shop towel. For installation, simply reverse the removal steps, using a new gasket and tightening the throttle body fasteners to the specified torque.

The throttle body connector(s), throttle body hoses, vacuum hoses, and on 2.0L models, the EVAP canister purge hose. On 2003 and 2004 models, the accelerator cable and cruise control cable, if equipped, should also be disconnected.
