- A:To remove the throttle body, start by disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal. Then, remove the air intake duct by disconnecting it from the throttle body and moving it aside. Disconnect the electrical connector from the throttle body and, if applicable, remove the fasteners securing the heater hose bracket to the throttle body on 3.4L V6 models. Next, remove the throttle body mounting fasteners and carefully lift off the throttle body, discarding the old gasket. Remember to cover the intake manifold opening with a clean shop towel.
