Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. For 2015 and earlier models and all 2.5L engines, drain the cooling system below the upper radiator hose level. If the coolant is relatively new or in good condition, save it and reuse it. Remove the engine cover fasteners and the cover, if equipped. Loosen the hose clamp and slide the clamp back on the upper hose, then disconnect the upper radiator hose from the radiator. On 2.5L engines, remove the front bumper fascia, radiator support trim panel and hood latch, then radiator support fasteners and radiator support. Disconnect the electrical connectors to the cooling fans, then disengage the wiring harness retainers from the shroud and move the harness out of the way. Disengage the transaxle cooler lines from the retainers on the shroud. Remove the fan shroud mounting bolts at the top corners of the shroud, then tilt the shroud back towards the engine and lift the shroud assembly up and off of the radiator. Remove the fan shroud to radiator fasteners and clips then separate the fan shroud from the radiator. For motor replacement, remove the shroud and fan assembly. Remove the retainer from the fan motor shaft and detach the fan blade from the motor. Remove the fan motor mounting bolts and detach the motor from the shroud. Installation is the reverse of removal. For all 2016 and later models (except 2.5L engines), remove the radiator and cooling fan module. Remove the fan shroud-to-radiator fasteners and clips, then separate the fan shroud from the radiator. For motor replacement, remove the shroud and fan assembly. Remove the retainer from the fan motor shaft and detach the fan blade from the motor. Remove the fan motor mounting bolts and detach the motor from the shroud. Installation is the reverse of removal.
