    Q:
How to remove the Power Steering Pump on Chevrolet Corvette? Posted by Milka B.
    A:
Before removing the power steering pump it is recommended that the cable is disconnected from the negative terminal of the battery. Then, lift the engine cover, dismantle the air filter housing and the intake air duct/resonator if the power steering pump is needed. With a big syringe or suction gun siphon as much as power steering fluid from the fluid reservoir as possible and place a drain pan below the vehicle to capture any dripping fluid when removing the hoses. If OEM equipped remove the brake pressure modulator valve from the bracket and take off the bracket from the vehicle For 2004 and earlier models. Next, remove the drivebelt. If so fitted, remove the electrical connector from the power steering pump. For all cars except for those of the supercharged category, take off the power steering fluid reservoir. In the LS7 models, the driver side valve cover should be taken out. Remove the power steering pump pulley in all cases except the supercharged models After some of the procedures had been highlighted, the following got done: Last of all, unscrew the pump mounting bolts to have the power steering pump disconnected from the bracket. During installation, it is recommended you follow a sequence that is the reverse of the removal process, and the mounting bolts tightened to the appropriate torque, while the power steering reservoir is refilled with the appropriate fluids and bleeding of the hydraulic power steering system is done.
