Q:
How to disconnect and remove the MAF sensor from the air filter housing cover? Posted by Customer
A:
To disconnect the MAF sensor from the air filter housing cover, loosen the hose clamp screw and carefully separate the MAF sensor from the cover. To detach the MAF sensor from the air intake duct, loosen the hose clamp screw and carefully separate the MAF sensor from the intake duct. Note the directional arrows on the bar code label on the edge of the MAF sensor, indicating the direction of air flow. When installing the sensor, ensure that these arrows are facing toward the air intake duct. For 4.BL, 5.3L, and 6.0L V8 engines, remove the Connector Position Assurance (CPA) retainer, if equipped, and disconnect the MAF sensor electrical connector. Loosen the three hose clamp screws and remove the air intake duct elbow. Remove the air filter housing and detach the MAF sensor from it by removing the three mounting bolts. For 2018 and later 4.3L V6 engines, disconnect the electrical connector from the MAF sensor. Remove the MAF sensor mounting screws and pull the sensor out from the side of the air filter housing. Installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring that all components are securely tightened.
