- Q:How to remove and replace the fuel level sending unit assembly? Posted by Customer
- A:Remove the fuel tank and the fuel pump module. Connect the probes of an ohmmeter to the two fuel level sensor terminals (2 and 3) of the fuel pump module electrical connector. Position the float in the down (empty) position and note the reading on the ohmmeter. Move the float up to the full position while watching the meter. If the fuel level sensor resistance does not change smoothly as the float travels from empty to full, replace the fuel level sensor assembly. Replacement: Remove the fuel tank and the fuel pump module. Disconnect the fuel level sensor electrical connector from the module cover. Disconnect the fuel pump/fuel level sensor electrical connector from the fuel pump module-inline engine. Remove the sending unit retaining clip. Remove the sending unit retaining clip-inline engine. Pinch the tabs together and slide the fuel level sensor off the module. Pinch the tabs together and remove the fuel level sensor from the module. Note the routing of the wiring for installation.
