To work on the turbocharger ducting, first, raise and support the front of the vehicle on jackstands. Remove the engine cover and the engine undercover. For the Charge Air Cooler to Throttle Body duct, release the clip attaching it to the throttle body, remove the bracket bolt attached to the engine, and detach the coolant hose clip from the duct. Then, working under the vehicle, release the clip attaching the duct to the charge air cooler and remove the duct from the vehicle. For the Turbocharger to Charge Air Cooler duct, remove the air intake duct between the air filter housing and the turbocharger, disconnect the turbocharger electrical connector, and release the clip attaching the duct to the turbocharger. Working under the vehicle, release the clip attaching the duct to the charge air cooler and remove the duct through the engine compartment. To remove the turbocharger, drain the engine coolant and engine oil, and disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the engine cover, under-vehicle cover, and the air intake duct between the air filter housing and the turbocharger. Remove the duct between the turbocharger and the charge air cooler, as well as the bolts and heat shield from the turbocharger. Remove the oil feed pipe banjo bolt, and working under the vehicle, remove the oil feed pipe and the banjo bolt from the coolant supply pipe and coolant return pipe. Remove the catalytic converter from the exhaust pipe, disconnect the oxygen sensor connectors, and remove the catalytic converter bracket and heat shield. Remove the catalytic converter from the turbocharger housing and remove the oil return pipe. Disconnect any turbocharger electrical connectors and remove the turbocharger flange nuts to take the turbocharger out of the vehicle. Service the turbocharger components as necessary. For the Charge Air Cooler removal, have the air conditioning refrigerant recovered and raise the front of the vehicle. Remove the air conditioning condenser and the bracket in front of the charge air cooler on 2016 and later models. Disconnect the inlet and outlet hoses from the charge air cooler and lift the cooler upwards to remove it from the mounts and take it out of the vehicle. For installation, follow the reverse steps of removal, using new sealing washers, gaskets, and seals where required. Refill the cooling system and crankcase with oil, and tighten all fasteners to the specified torque. For the Charge Air Cooler installation, have the air conditioning system evacuated, leak tested, and recharged.
