Then, loosen the wheel lug nuts, raise the vehicle, and remove the wheels. Next, bottom the piston in the caliper bore and clean the brake hose before removing it. Finally, remove the mounting bolts and detach the caliper from the vehicle. To overhaul the caliper, begin by removing the brake pads and cleaning the exterior of the caliper. Use compressed air to remove the piston from the caliper, being careful not to damage it. Remove the dust boot and piston seal, and discard any rubber parts. Clean all the parts and inspect the piston and caliper bore for any damage. Lubricate the piston bores and seal, then assemble the caliper with new bushings and sleeves.
