How to remove and install a radiator and coolant reservoir tank on Chevrolet Blazer? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before pulling out the radiator from Chevy Blazer and GMC Jimmy, start with disconnecting the negative end of the battery cable and emptying the cooling system. Start by taking off the air intake duct and upper fan grill. When the vehicle has an automatic transmission or an engine oil cooler installed, carefully take off these cooler lines from the radiator and plug their ends to keep them from leaking. Disconnect the upper and lower radiator hoses. Twist out the lower fan shroud by manually pushing down on two small plastic clips. Finally, pull the radiator straight up and out. First, replace any broken hose clamps and radiator hoses before you reverse-install the radiator, step-by-step. With newer models, put fresh spring clamps on oil cooler connections and make sure they push down tight. After installing the system, put the correct antifreeze mix inside and check the transmission fluid level when it's automatic. First, remove the PCM at the top of the coolant reservoir, then disconnect the overflow hose and mounting nuts so you can take out the reservoir. Be sure to clean the reservoir from old parts, so no dirt affects the system when you put it back.

    Q:
How to remove and install a radiator and coolant reservoir tank on GMC Sonoma? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to remove the radiator includes disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery cable and draining the cooling system. The first step entails removing the air intake duct together with the upper fan shroud. Vehicle owners must carefully disconnect automatic transmission and engine oil cooler lines from the radiator with plugging or tubing to stop leaks and entry of contaminants at the ready. Install a drip pan underneath. Disconnect radiator upper and lower hoses before taking out the lower fan shroud through screwdriver operation of plastic tabs. End the radiator removal by pulling it directly upward. Before you install the radiator replace all defective hose clamps and radiator hoses then check for leaks and test when cooling problems existed. The installation proceeds in the reverse direction of removal while new spring clips secure the oil cooler connections and required the push of oil cooler lines until they secure into position. Before using the system complete the filling process with the correct antifreeze mixture and check automatic transmission fluid levels when needed. The coolant reservoir must be taken out through an access that differs per model so you must detach both the overflow hose and the mounting nuts to get the tank out. A clean reservoir without debris should be present when fitting reservoir components through backward installation steps.
