    A:
Loosen the left-front wheel lug nuts, then raise the front of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Remove the wheel. Remove the inner fender splash shield. Remove the VSS hold-down bolt and clamp, then pull the sensor out of the transaxle case using a twisting motion. Installation is the reverse of removal. Be sure to lubricate the O-ring with clean transaxle lubricant before installing.

How is the Vehicle Speed Sensor removed and installed on Saturn LS? Posted by Customer
    A:
This sensor is used only on models with an automatic transaxle. Begin by turning the ignition key to OFF. Next, raise the front of the vehicle and place it securely on jackstands. Disconnect the electrical connector from the OSS sensor. Disengage the electrical harness from the bracket attached to the OSS sensor by pushing the lower half of the clip to the left with a small screwdriver until it releases from the upper half of the clip, then remove the retaining bolt to take out the OSS sensor. After that, remove the old O-ring from the OSS sensor and discard it, ensuring to use a new O-ring during installation, even if planning to reuse the old sensor. Finally, installation is the reverse of removal, making sure to tighten the OSS sensor retaining bolt securely.
