The starter and solenoid assembly cannot be repaired using separate components. In the event of failure, exchange the starter/solenoid assembly for a new or rebuilt complete unit. Also, consider warming the battery or engine block in extremely cold temperatures before testing. Finally, if the starter receives voltage but doesn't engage, remove and bench test the starter/solenoid assembly, and replace the defective component if necessary. If the engine is seized, attempt to rotate the crankshaft pulley before proceeding. In the bench test, apply battery voltage to the solenoid S terminal to check the solenoid's operation and the starter's functionality.
