    Q:
How to disconnect and install the Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor and Mass Air Flow Sensor on Chevrolet Corvette? Posted by Customer
    A:
For 5.7L (LS1 and LS6) and 6.0L (LS2) engines, remove the electrical connector from the MAF/IMT sensor. Break loose the clamps on the intake air ducts and those of MAF sensors-to-air filter housings. The intake air duct is separated from the throttle body as well as MAF/IMT sensor, after which the latter is removed from air filter housing. Reinstall everything as it was during disassembly. Tighten them firmly. It should also be noted that on supercharged 6.2L (LS9) engines, the Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor is a separate sensor mounted on the charge air cooler; while for other models, the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor is located on the side of the intake air duct portion of the air filter housing. Remove electrical connector to MAF/IMT sensor. Remove fasteners by unscrewing them, then detach this device from your car's air intake duct. Reinstallation follows removal steps in reverse.

    Q:
What is the function of the Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor and Mass Air Flow Sensor and how to replace on Chevrolet Colorado? Posted by Customer
    A:
The Intake Manifold Temperature (IMT) sensor is a thermistor, and it changes its resistance according to the temperature. The change in resistance directly affects the voltage signal supplied by the sensor to the PCM. Resistance values decrease as sensor temperature rises and increase when it falls. The IMT is part of the Mass Air Flow sensor, which measures air quantity entering the engine using a hot-wire sensing element. This wire gets cooled as air moves over it. This thermal variation is converted into an analog voltage signal to PCM that adjusts fuel injector pulse width corresponding with airflow. The MAF/IMT can be found on the intake air duct. To replace it, disconnect the sensor electrical connector, remove the two mounting screws and pull the sensor out from the air intake duct. Installation is simply reversing of removal.

    Q:
How to remove the Mass Air Flow Sensor on Chevrolet Cobalt? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove the MAF sensor, begin by turning the ignition key OFF. Then, disconnect the electrical connector from the MAF sensor by pushing the tab on the connector with a screwdriver and pulling outward on the connector lock. If necessary, remove the left front fender well liner for better access to the MAF sensor on the air intake canister.

    Q:
How to remove and install the Mass Air Flow Sensor on Pontiac G6? Posted by Customer
    A:
For four-cylinder and 3.6L V6, the MAF sensor is screwed on the air filter housing. Start with the removal of the air intake duct from the sensor and making the electrical connector disconnected from the sensor as well. On all four cylinder models, you require a small screwdriver to unlock from the connector release tab to disconnect the connector. Then, there are two mounting screws of the sensors and once these bolts are loosened, the sensor comes off the air filter housing. After that, you should unbolt the MAF sensor from the air filter housing by the use of the appropriate mounting screws to detach the sensor from its housing. The removal and installation procedures are always the opposite to each other, and that is why it is accomplished in reverse. On 3.5L and 3.9L V6 models an MAF sensor is located in-line across from the air filter housing and interconnected to the air intake duct. Unplug the electrical connector of the MAF sensor; you will also need to unbolt the hose clamp at the end of the sensor. The ones holding it to the air box if any should be unscrewed and it should be pulled out. Once more, installation is the exact opposite of removal.

    Q:
What is the function of the Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor and Mass Air Flow Sensor and how to replace on GMC Canyon?

    Q:
How to remove and install the Mass Air Flow Sensor on Chevrolet Trailblazer? Posted by Customer
    A:
Between the air filter housing and the air intake duct, you will find the MAF sensor. Begin with the removal of air intake duct and resonator. Then disconnect electrical connector from MAF sensor. Thereafter, loose the hose clamp screws that hold MAF sensor to the air filter housing in V8 models or to the air intake duct in six-cylinder models. When removing MAF sensor from V8 models, just pull it off the top of the air filter housing cover. For six-cylinder models, remove MAF sensor by pulling off air intake duct and then pull off MAF sensor from between air filter housing and air intake duct. Install is opposite of removal. Ensure that the embossed arrow on the MAF sensor points towards engine direction.

    Q:
How to replace the Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor and Mass Air Flow Sensor on Saturn Vue? Posted by Customer
    A:
For 2002 and 2003 models with V6 engines, there is the MAF/Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor located just at the air filter housing. First unplug the electrical connector which is located at the sensor and second, remove the air intake tube. Second last, unbolt on the mounting nuts that hold the sensor and pull it off the air filter housing. Finally, to fix the sensor in place use the reverse of the instructions used while removing the sensor.
