- A:With the subframe removed, support the transaxle with a transmission jack and remove the bolts from the transaxle-to-engine brace. Remove the starter and flywheel cover, and mark the relationship of the torque converter to the driveplate. Push the torque converter into the bell housing and remove the lower transaxle-to-engine bolts.
