- Q: How to remove and install the front and rear bumpers on Buick Century?A:Front bumper and bumper shock as viewed from underneath the vehicle. Remove the usually 4 retaining screws in each of the head light bezels and remove the bezels. Raise the car and support it securely. Remove the usually 6 push-on retainers from the bottom of the bumper and remove the 6 screws holding the retainer to each fender. Remove the usually 4 push-on retainers from the outer molding and partially remove the outer molding from the fenders. Remove the usually 2 sheet metal screws from the center bumper retainer, then remove the front bumper. Remove the usually 8 retaining screws and bolts from the impact bar and remove the impact bar from its reinforcements. To install, reverse the procedure above. Rear. Raise and support the car to a suitable work height. Remove the 2 push-on retainer clips from each end of the molding, then remove the molding. Remove the 4 wing nuts and electrical connectors from each of the tail lamp assemblies and remove the left and right tail lamp assemblies. Remove the 5 wing nuts, detach the electrical connector and remove the back-up light assembly. Open the trunk and remove the 2 retaining nuts from the left and right side reflectors, then remove the reflectors. Remove the 7 retaining pins from the valance panel and remove the panel. Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the 8 retaining nuts, 4 retaining bolts and 11 retaining pins from the rear bumper and remove the bumper. Disconnect the electrical connector, and remove the 8 retaining nuts from the impact bar and energy absorber. Remove the 8 retaining clips and remove the impact bar from the mounting support bracket. To install, reverse to install. Lower the vehicle.
