A: The CMP sensor is located on the right (passenger) end of the rear cylinder head. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Disconnect the CMP sensor electrical connector. To remove the CMP sensor, unplug the electrical connector and remove the sensor retaining bolt. Remove the CMP sensor retaining bolt and remove the CMP sensor. Remove and inspect the CMP sensor 0-ring for wear or damage. If it's worn or damaged, replace it. Coat the new 0-ring with clean engine oil, then install it on the CMP sensor. Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten the CMP sensor retaining bolt to the specific torque.
