Your car's neutral safety switch needs different steps for fixing and putting back together based on if you have a 4T60 or 4T60-E transaxle. Begin by removing the negative cable from the battery, then take off the following parts in particular order: shift linkage, electrical connector, and vacuum hose; undo the attaching nut and pull out the shift lever. After that, detach the fuel line bracket and bolt, then take off the retaining bolts from the switch. Begin install by changing the switch back to its correct position and fastening the retaining bolts to 20 ft. lbs. (27 Nm). You begin by disconnecting the negative battery cable for 4T80-E transaxles, just like the main process, before removing a sequence of parts: air cleaner duct and housing, control cable attached to the manual shaft lever, cable bracket and cable, retaining nut, electrical connector, and hose, then the bolts holding the neutral safety switch. We put the switch back into place while making sure it's adjusted correctly, then screw down the retaining bolts to 12 Nm force and the manual shaft lever nut to 20 ft. lbs. Make sure you adjust the neutral safety switch so the engine starts only in PARK or NEUTRAL, to keep people safe from getting hurt. First, we must loosen the two bolts that hold the switch, turn the hand lever to NEUTRAL, move the switch until a 2.34-mm pin easily fits into the adjustment hole, and fasten the switch bolts carefully.
