To remove the condenser, start by discharging the system and disconnecting the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Then, remove the radiator grille and, on newer models, the air cleaner assembly and duct. Next, take out the radiator support(s) and, if applicable, the horns mounted to the upper radiator tie-bar. Disconnect the refrigerant lines from the condenser, using a backup wrench to avoid twisting the condenser filling. Carefully remove the condenser from the vehicle, making sure not to lose the rubber mounting pads. If the condenser will be reinstalled, store it in a way that prevents oil from running out. Finally, cap the refrigerant line fittings to prevent moisture ingress and leakage. For installation, follow the reverse steps of removal. If replacing the condenser, measure and record the amount of oil that comes out, and add an additional ounce during recharging. Use the appropriate oil for your system. After installation, have the system evacuated, recharged, and leak tested.
