  • Q: How to remove and replace a tie-rod end on Chevrolet Avalanche,Silverado,Suburban,Tahoe,GMC Sierra,Yukon,Yukon Denali and Yukon XL?
    A: To remove and replace a tie-rod end, first, loosen the wheel lug nuts, raise the vehicle, and place it securely on jackstands. Remove the wheel and then loosen the tie-rod end locknut and mark the position of the tie-rod end on the threaded portion of the tie-rod. Loosen the end-to-Steering Knuckle nut about 1/4 inch from the end ball joint stud. Install a ball joint separator and separate the tie-rod end.
