Chevrolet C1500 Steering Knuckle

Chevrolet C1500 Steering Knuckle serves as the pivotal link that lets the front wheels articulate up and down over bumps while turning smoothly with driver input. On this rear wheel drive Chevrolet pickup, the Steering Knuckle unites the upper and lower control arms, tie rod end, and a spindle that carries the wheel hub, creating a sturdy hinge that supports vehicle weight yet swivels easily to follow steering commands. Earlier truck designs applied kingpins for this job, but modern ball joints mounted in the Steering Knuckle reduce friction and mass. Two main versions appear across C1500 years, both rear drive types, one casting with an integral spindle that houses tapered roller bearings, and a later style where a bolt on hub with sealed bearings attaches to a flat faced Steering Knuckle, streamlining service and parts changes. Though long wearing, collision bends or out of round ball joint bores demand replacement, and if threads gall on the spindle section, installing a new Steering Knuckle restores precise alignment, keeping everyday Chevrolet drivers confident in the handling feel that sets the C1500 apart.

Each OEM Chevrolet C1500 Steering Knuckle we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.

Chevrolet C1500 Steering Knuckle Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to raise the front of the Chevrolet C1500 and remove Steering Knuckle?
    A:
Raise the front of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Apply the parking brake. Support the lower Control Arm with a jack so the coil spring is compressed to its normal ride height. Warning: The jack must remain in this position throughout the entire procedure. Remove the wheel. Remove the brake caliper and the brake disc/hub assembly. Remove the disc splash shield, if equipped. Disconnect the tie-rod end from the knuckle. Disconnect the balljoints from the steering knuckle. Remove the steering knuckle. Installation is the reverse of removal. Adjust the front wheel bearings and have the front wheel alignment checked by a dealer service department or alignment shop.
