With the ignition off, disconnect the MAP sensor's electrical connection, pull out the mounting bolt, and start work on these 2005 and later models with 2.0L supercharged, 2.2L, or 2.4L engines. The MAP sensor is located on the intake manifold behind the throttle body for 2.2L and 2.4L engines, while 2.0L engines have two sensors: At the right end of your intake manifold is the TMAP sensor, and high on top of the left supercharger is the SCIP sensor. To take out the throttle body, you must make sure you can access the sensor. To detach the sensor thanks to the easy-to-remove locking clip, push the two ends together, pull it free, and take the sensor off. To get access to the 2.0L turbo engine MAP sensor, remove its electrical connector from the intake manifold above the throttle body. Then take out the mounting screws and lift off the sensor. To install the sensor correctly, you need to replace it entirely on 2005 and later models when the sealing damage shows up. The installation process runs in the opposite direction from removal.
