If the instrument cluster is being removed for service or sent to an authorized Delco service center, the bezel and instrument panel
Dimmer Switch must be removed and reused in the replacement instrument cluster. Begin by disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal. Release the tilt wheel lever and lower the steering wheel to its lowest position. Remove the instrument cluster upper trim panel. Carefully lift the HUD wiring harness from between the HUD and instrument cluster and disconnect the HUD unit, if equipped. Remove the instrument cluster mounting screws, then carefully lift the rear of the instrument cluster to release it from the lower locating tabs and pull it out while disconnecting the electrical connectors. For HUD unit removal, follow the procedure to remove the instrument cluster, then loosen the two lower retaining screws that attach the HUD unit to the steering column bracket. Remove the two vertical screws found on the top of the HUD unit, take out the HUD unit, and disconnect the electrical connector. Installation is the reverse of removal.
