How to disconnect the Automatic Transmission Shift Levers assembly and reinstall it on Chevrolet Cruze?

Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Remove the shift knob by grasping it tightly with two hands and pulling up while twisting the knob slightly back and forth until it is free. Remove the center console. Detach the shift cable end from the pin on the shift lever assembly. Disconnect any electrical connectors to the shift lever assembly. Remove the four mounting bolts for the shift lever assembly and lift the assembly out. Transfer any parts as necessary if the assembly is being replaced. Installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring to adjust the shift cable once the shift lever has been reinstalled.
