How to locate and remove the brake booster vacuum pump on Chevrolet Cruze?

For 2015 and earlier models, locate the brake booster vacuum pump at the left rear side of the engine compartment, below the power brake booster. Disconnect the vacuum hose quick-connect fitting and electrical connector, then remove the pump bracket mounting bolts and guide the assembly out of the engine compartment. After removing the pump and bracket assembly, take off the pump-to-bracket nuts/bolts and detach the pump from the bracket, with installation being the reverse of removal. For 2016 and later models, the vacuum pump is situated on the left end of the cylinder head. Disconnect the quick-connect vacuum line fitting at the top of the vacuum pump, then remove the charge air cooler outlet pipe. Next, take out the vacuum pump mounting bolts, the vacuum pump, and the gasket. Install a new vacuum pump gasket to the cylinder head, align the vacuum pump slotted gear with the slot in the end of the camshaft, and finally, install the mounting bolts, tightening them to the specified torque.
