To replace the EVAP canister purge solenoid turn the turned the ignition key as OFF and the solenoid is located on the intake manifold. Release the electrical connector by pulling the retainer clip and the inlet and outlet quick connect union. Subsequently, remove the inlet and outlet purge line fittings and cover the line to ensure that it would not be contaminated. Slide the solenoid from its mounting tab and the process of installation is the same as the process of removal in reverse. For the EVAP canister vent solenoid, raise the rear of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands, then unplug the electrical connector of the vent solenoid and then remove it in counterclockwise direction and for installation is vice versa. For the EVAP canister, more the rear of the car and take out the fuel tank backward until the EQAP canister is found. Use a screwdriver to deal with the hoses and to uncouple connectors and the electrical connector. On 1.8L models, also remove and disconnect the fuel tank pressure sensor electrical connector, then unclip the canister from its mounting bracket, and reinstallation is the reverse. To access the fuel tank pressure sensor, move the vehicle on an upward inclined plane and securely jack up the car and put on a jack stand and then remove the fuel tank. For 1.4L models, you will need to unplug the electrical connector to the sensor which is installed on the fuel pump module by rubber grommets and then rock this connector with two screw drivers. On 1.8L models, remove the electrical connector for the sensor located on the EVAP canister and bend it with two screws and the process of installation will be the opposite of this.
