How should the Windshield Wiper and Wiper Blade assembly be inspected and maintained on Chevrolet Cruze?

The wiper and blade assembly must be checked occasionally for any signs of damage, and condition of its parts and components, as well as checking of the blade elements for cracks and signs of wear. Road film can accumulate on the rubber edges of the wiper blades and compromise the effectiveness of the wipers and thus they should be cleaned with a mild detergent once in awhile. In the case that they are cracked, worn, or warped, or cannot clean any further, one may have to replace them with new wiper blade elements. To remove the wiper just pull the arm upwards until it clears the glass, push in the release button and slide the blade section of the arm away from the hook. For the blade holder to be released, one has to push this tab and pull the wiper blade towards the windscreen away from the blade holder. Last but not least, before inserting the new wiper into the arm slot and fitting it, make sure that they will connect when inserted by making a clicking sound.
