Ensure that the wipers are in their "parked" position before disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal. Remove the trim covers from the windshield wiper arm retaining nuts, take off the wiper arm nuts, disconnect the windshield washer lines, and remove the washer line elbows from the cowl covers. Mark the relationship of each wiper arm to its shaft before removing them, then pull off and remove both arms. Next, remove the cowl covers and disconnect the electrical connector from the windshield wiper motor. For 2011 and later models, remove the wiper motor and linkage fasteners, move the motor back, and disconnect the electrical connector from the motor. Remove the mounting bolts for the windshield wiper motor and linkage assembly, taking out the wiper motor and linkage as a single unit. If replacing the windshield wiper motor or linkage, pry loose the drive link from the motor crank arm with a trim panel removal tool, then remove the crank arm retaining nut, take off the crank arm, remove the motor mounting bolts, and separate the motor from its mounting bracket. Installation follows the reverse order of removal, ensuring that the motor mounting bolts are tightened securely.
