  The removal begins with disconnecting the negative cable from the battery and then removing the transmission. In case it is a heavy-duty type, the bellhousing should be taken off. The clutch release lever is detached from the ball stud on 1995 and earlier models and then this bearing is removed from the lever. On 1996 and later models, one removes the clutch release cylinder which leads to detachment of the release bearing from it.
