Whenever there is an issue that needs to be addressed, it has to be determined whether the problem is electrical, mechanical or hydraulic so as to be in a position to consider the repair process. Diagnosis involves understanding of how the transaxle operates and an appreciation of its components coupled with access to appropriate diagnostic equipment; such work must be undertaken by a dealer service department or other competent repair centre where problems with the automatic transaxle are identified. Furthermore, one should not pull out a defective transaxle until an experienced mechanic with the correct equipment has made a diagnosis, because troubleshooting needs to be done with the transaxle still in the car.
