For purposes of accessing the valve body where the electronic shift solenoids are located you need to perform the following steps; raise the front of the car on jack stands, drain the transaxle, placing a drain pan underneath the front of the transaxle near the radiator. On 6T40/6T70 equipped vehicles, the battery and battery tray must be pulled out, and the lines connected to the transaxle must be disconnected for the 2015 model or earlier, while on the 2016 or later models the lines must be removed. Place the transaxle on a stand, remove the front transaxle mount bolt, disconnect the ground and remove the transaxle electrical connector. Take out the lower transaxle cover bolts, and the cover, while making corrections on the positioning of the transaxle if needed. Remove the shift position electrical connectors, then the bolts for the control valve solenoid body and TCM assembly and be sure to save the location for reconnection. For the AF50-8 models, bleed the engine coolant, unbolt the lower radiator hose, pry off the transmission cooler line quick connect fittings and remove the transaxle cover screws. Loosen and take off the cover gently and clean the contact surfaces and un bolt the control valve solenoid body taking care with the position of the bolts. So for 9T50 models, need to take off the charge air cooler to throttle body duct, TCM and its bracket, disconnected transmission cooler lines and of course it will involve the same procedure of taking of transaxle cover and control valve solenoid body as well. In case of the VT40 models, proceed as follows: Remove the battery and battery tray, discharge the engine coolant, take off the following components and thereafter remove the control valve solenoid body. The reverse procedure of removal is installation: replace the seals and plates of various types, and bolts in locations pointed; torque is applied subsequently; new gaskets or RTV sealant are applied; the transaxle is refilled to certain level and checked for operation; the cooling system is refilled for some models.
