Locate the two electrical connections labeled primary lead and module/
Igniter, then disconnect them in that order. Start on the distributor side and follow the wires back to find the connectors. Find the "1" tab on the distributor cap where your spark plug wire connects; if no "1" tab exists, locate number one spark plug, trace wire back to the cap's terminal where it attaches. Pull off the cap on the distributor and move the engine by hand until the metal spiker points toward the outlet for spark plug number one. When replacing the distributor, find two spots to mark: touch the end of the rotor against the distributor base, then put a notch on both the base and cylinder head to match them up correctly. Carefully undo the distributor hold-down bolts, and take the entire distributor out without spinning the crankshaft while doing so. When you rotated the crankshaft during removal, zero out crankshaft degrees by aligning engine compression to cylinder number one at Top Dead Center. Put the distributor back into the cylinder head in exactly the same position it had while you took it out. You should glance at the camshaft slot and turn the rotor until the dogs in the coupling slide into place. First attach bolt loosely. Then add distributor cap, connect electronics, put spark plug wires back on, and connect negative charge cable to battery. Also normalize verbalization when possible.
