How to disconnect and remove the Starter Solenoid from the starter motor on Chevrolet Metro?

Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery, then remove the starter motor. Next, remove the retaining nut and disconnect the strap from the solenoid to the starter motor terminal, noting that on vehicles with an automatic transaxle, the strap is attached between terminals on the sides of the starter motor and solenoid, while on vehicles with a manual transaxle, it is located between terminals on the ends of the starter and solenoid. After that, remove the through-bolts securing the solenoid to the starter drive housing. Pull up and out to disengage the plunger hook from the shift lever and remove the solenoid. For installation, reverse the removal steps, ensuring to grease the plunger hook and install the solenoid with the plunger hook facing up.
