To replace the latch, first, discharge the bolts holding the radiator cover plate allowing it to be removed. Mark around the latch while indenting it so that it can easily fit the positions when reinstalling it, then remove the latch retaining bolts from the radiator support as well as the latch. Subsequently, you have to let go of the hook of the hood release cable that corresponds to the latch assembly. For the cable, cut off from the latch assembly and then fit a wire of stiffness to the end of the cable and give path back to the firewall and then remove all of the retaining clips. In the passenger compartment unscrew the hood cable from the hood release lever and retract the old cable into the compartment until a stiff wire from the end is seen. This allows a grommet to be placed in the cable hole in the firewall; if replacing the cable simply make sure a new grommet is used and the old one discarded. Remove the old cable from the wire and fit the new cable and pass the wire through the hole provided at the engine compartment. Last of all, it is straining the grommet from inside the car interior while making sure it fits in the hole of the firewall properly.
