Chevrolet Nova A/C Switch

The Chevrolet Nova A/C Switch lets drivers instantly summon cool or warm air, giving direct command over cabin comfort. The switch is positioned within the dash climate control module, linking driver input to relays that activate the compressor and blower precisely when needed so energy is not wasted. Early Nova models applied a simple two stage A/C Switch with mechanical contacts that merely opened or closed the circuit, while later Chevrolet versions adopted a multi function A/C Switch integrated with automatic temperature systems, enabling variable blower speeds governed by a power module that reads inside and outside sensor data. Despite the change in complexity, both types share the same goal, to toggle the air conditioning circuit at the perfect moment for steady interior temperature. When the A/C Switch fails, the circuit can stick on or off, causing unwanted cooling, heating, or parasitic fuel loss. Owners of Chevrolet Nova cars should recognize that the modern style brings smoother transitions and infinite blower settings compared with the older three speed setups, and a properly operating A/C Switch keeps energy use low while preserving ideal comfort, ensuring any Nova ride stays pleasant in scorching summers or frosty winters.

Each OEM Chevrolet Nova A/C Switch we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.

Chevrolet Nova A/C Switch Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove and install the A/C Switch and Blower Motor on Chevrolet Nova?
    A:
To replace the blower motor, first disconnect the battery ground cable and remove all wiring and hoses from the right-hand fender skirt. Raise the vehicle securely on jackstands, then remove the eight rearmost fender skirt-to-fender attaching screws. Pull the fender skirt outwards and down, placing a 2 x 4 inch wooden block between the skirt and fender. Next, remove the blower motor mounting screws and pass the blower through the fender skirt opening. Detach the blower wheel by removing the retaining nut. For installation, reverse the removal steps and apply a bead of body putty around the blower motor flange for a good seal. To work on the air distribution duct and heater core, disconnect the battery ground cable and drain the radiator if necessary. Disconnect the heater hoses at the core connections, plugging the core tubes to prevent coolant spillage. Remove the nuts from the heater distributor studs on the engine side of the firewall, then take out the glove box and door assembly. Drill out the lower right-hand air distribution stud from beneath the dash, then pull the heater case/distribution assembly from the dash panel, being careful not to kink the control cables. Disconnect the cables and resistor wires before removing the distribution assembly. Take out the heater core from the distribution assembly, and during installation, ensure the hose from the water pump connects to the top heater core pipe, checking that the case seal is intact and applying a new seal if necessary. Replace the drilled-out stud with a new screw and stamped nut, then fill the cooling system and check for leaks after running the engine. For the control head assembly, disconnect the battery ground cable, remove the radio if applicable, and take out the control head to panel instrument screws to lower the control assembly. Detach the control cables and wires, then remove the control head, ensuring to detach the control cable(s) from the heater control panel. Installation follows the reverse of the removal process.
