  Q: How to remove and install the BTSI solenoid in a Buick Enclave,Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia?

  A: This system prevents shifting out of Park without the key turned On and brake pedal pressed. The vehicle has a push or pull type BTSI solenoid. The push-to-release type is attached to the shift lever assembly with a screw and harness, while the pull-to-release type clips in with a connector. To remove the solenoid, remove the console extension panel first. For the push-to-release type, disconnect the electrical connector and remove the screw. For the pull-to-release type, disconnect the electrical connector by depressing the lock tab, then release the solenoid by pressing the tabs. Installation is the reverse, ensuring correct placement and fully seated and locked connector.
