For newer cars with factory installed windshield wipers, unlatch and note the positions of the wiper arms against their connecting arms as preparation before you detach and remove both. First, unscrew the cowl cover plastic, detach the electrical wire from the wiper motor, and loosen the three mounting screws before pulling out wiper motor and its links. Remove the motor's crank arm by prying off the link rod from its pivot pin with a screwdriver, then take off the nut holding the crank arm to the motor shaft. Detach the crank arm from the motor shaft, note their positions, and remove the two motor support screws to pull out the motor directly from its mounting bracket. To get to the rear wiper motor, lift and remove the trim cover, loosen the nut, note how the rear wiper arm fits with the motor shaft, and take off the arm. Lift off the trim panel from the hatch of your vehicle. Disconnect the electronic cable from the motor before removing the bolts that hold the motor bracket. Take the motor and bracket out from behind the car. The motor takes apart in the same way it comes together.
