Remove the timing chain cover, then use a punch to drive out the old oil seal and shedder, working from the front toward the rear of the timing chain cover. Apply the new oil seal packing around the opening with the ends positioned at the top, and drive in the new shedder using a punch, ensuring to stake it in place in at least three locations. Rotate the handle of a hammer or a similar tool to size the packing until the balancer hub can be inserted through the opening, and finally, re-install the timing chain cover.
