To take off the backup light/Neutral start switch, first disconnect the electrical harness at the Neutral start switch so that the clip on the switch connection part is open. Then, force the cable by unscrewing the pivot pin at the bottom of the shift lever then, unscrew the nut that joins the lever with the transaxle shaft. After that, there are two bolts that run from the top of the transaxle to secure the backup light/Neutral start switch which is then pulled out. For installation, it is required that the transaxle shaft be in the Neutral before the backup light/Neutral start switch is installed onto the transaxle and the mounting bolts tightened to the prescribed torque. Subsequently, place one of the retrieving levers' nut bearing the lever to the transaxle shaft and the cable assembly should be linked to the pivot pin as well. The backup light and the Neutral start switch are set at the factory and do not call for any settings to be made on the operator part.
