How to remove and install the Trunk Lock Cylinder from the trunk lid on Pontiac Grand Prix?

Lift the trunk lid and, if required, the rear garnish by unscrewing the screws from inside the trunk lid as well as back-up lamp plugs if any. Remove the lock cylinder from the vehicle by removing the retaining clip in the same manner and pulling on the cylinder and removing the actuator cable if present; some retaining clips will use a rivet to hold the clip in place and must be drilled out using a 5/32-inch drill bit. For installation of the lock cylinder, put the cylinder back in its place and fasten it with the retaining clip, in case the model needs rivet to be mounted, new rivets or self-tapping screws have to be used.
