Q: How to remove and replace the Parking Brake Shoe?
A: Take off the rear Brake Discs and measure the thickness of the friction material on the shoes. Replace them if it has worn down to 1.0 mm or less. Inspect the drum section of the disc for heat-induced scores, grooves or cracks. Should any of these conditions exist or there be considerable wear to the drum, replace disc. Clean off the brake parts with brake system cleaner. Remove parking brake shoes and upper return springs. Remove lower return spring and adjuster assembly. Unlock front shoe hold-down clip and pin. Take off shoe from vehicle. Take off strut and spring assembly. Dissociate rear shoe from parking brake lever and take it out from its place of installation. Apply light coat of high-temperature brake grease to backing plate shoe contact points.Paste a thin layer of high temperature grease on adjustor.Use very little amount of high temperature grease at new rear shoe's contact point with parking brake lever.Attach Parking Brake Lever To Rear Shoe.Fit The Rear Shoe Clip, Pin And Shoe.Set in place Front Shoe Clip, Pin And Shoe.Install Struts And Springs.Install Adjuster And Lower Return Spring.Install Upper Return Springs.Use two lug nuts with washers (for spacing) to hold the disc against hub.Installing Brake Caliper.Ensure that bolts are tightened according to specified torque requirements.Put wheels back on before lowering vehicle.Tighten wheel lug nuts using torque specifications.Check whether handbrakes works properly then adjust it if necessary.
