How to remove the automatic transmission shift levers assembly on Saturn ION?

Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Remove the center console. Remove the shift cable end from the pin on the shift lever assembly. Disconnect any electrical connectors to the shift lever assembly. Disconnect the shift interlock solenoid from the shifter assembly.
