Saturn Ion Coil Springs

Saturn Ion Coil Springs are critical suspensions that take the weight of the vehicle and the rough surface of the road without creating sags and maintaining the car's height. Common signs that coil springs have worn include the bottoming out and any irregularities on the tires with have an impact on the wheels' alignment. They come in OEM spec, Authentic reproduction, variable rate or the cargo coils depending on the user's need. Coil springs are also employed in lift and lowering kits; they also contribute to improving handling by controlling the body roll and increasing the tractive effort. The dependability of the coil springs, their stiffness as well as their compression rates is determined by their classification into linear rate, progressive and the dual rate. Further, the coilovers, which are adjustable, and the height adjustable springs are suitable in optimally adjusting the ride height, of the car so that there can be ideal gap between the tire and fender without having to look for another lowering kit.

Each OEM Saturn Ion Coil Springs we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.

Saturn Ion Coil Springs Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to disassemble and reassemble a Coil Springs and Shock Absorber assembly on Saturn ION?
A: If the struts or coil springs show signs of wear such as leaking fluid, loss of damping capability, or chipped, sagging, or cracked coil springs, it is important to explore all options before starting any work. These components are not serviceable and must be replaced. To disassemble, remove the strut and spring assembly and the upper strut cap cover should be unbolted to expose the strut shaft nut. Use a spring compressor to relieve pressure from the upper spring seat, and unscrew the damper shaft nut while holding the strut rod in place. The nut and upper mount and bearing should be removed and laid out in the order they were taken off. The rubber parts of the upper mount and spring seat should be checked for cracks or deterioration and replaced if necessary. The rubber bump stop should be slid off the damper shaft and checked for deterioration. The compressed spring should be carefully lifted and set aside. To reassemble, the damper rod should be extended and the rubber bump stop should be installed. The compressed coil spring should be placed onto the lower seat of the damper, with the end of the spring resting against the raised stop. The bearing and upper insulator/spring seat should be installed, followed by the upper mount and mounting nut, which should be tightened to the proper torque specifications. The spring compressor tool can then be removed, and the strut spring assembly should be installed.
