How to inspect and replace windshield wiper blades?

Inspect the windshield wiper and blade assembly regularly for damage and loose parts. Clean blades with mild detergent to remove road film. Replace blades if they're cracked, worn, or not cleaning properly. To replace, lift the arm, depress the release lever, and slide out the blade. Depress the release tab to separate the blade from the arm, then attach the new wiper. Listen for a click to confirm connection. If your vehicle has a rear wiper, remove the cover, lift the arm, and pivot the blade to remove it. Install the new blade by reversing these steps.
