The problem which may occur will require the differentiation between electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic issue before actual repair is to be considered. Diagnosis of the transaxle involves understanding of the kenetic and physical properties of the transaxle as well as the use of diagnostic tools which are usually special. For these reasons diagnosing and repairing the transaxle itself falls outside the parameters of general advice. Problems with the automatic transaxle must therefore be evaluated by a dealer service department or another reputable repair shop. Also, an improperly working transaxle should not be pulled out prior to consulting with a skilled mechanic who has the appropriate equipment and knowledge, because many diagnostics have to be done with the transaxle still connected in the car.
